Assembler programming is still used today, particularly in embedded systems and low-level programming where direct hardware manipulation is necessary. It is also used in certain performance-critical applications where fine control over hardware resources is required. However, its usage has declined in favor of higher-level languages due to the complexity and difficulty of writing and maintaining assembler code. Assembler programming is now mostly used by a niche group of developers with specialized needs. **
