Flat irons can still get hot and break, but advancements in technology and materials have made them more durable and reliable. Many flat irons now come with adjustable heat settings and ceramic or tourmaline plates, which distribute heat more evenly and reduce the risk of overheating and damage. However, it's still important to use flat irons carefully and follow the manufacturer's instructions to prevent overheating and potential breakage. **

The choice between a flat or helix design depends on the specific application and requirements. A flat design may be more suitable for applications where space is limited and a low profile is needed. On the other hand, a helix design may be preferred for applications where a higher torque or power transmission is required, as the helical shape provides more contact area and can handle higher loads. Ultimately, the decision should be based on the specific needs and constraints of the application. **

Laying flat on the surface when the ice is breaking distributes your weight over a larger area, reducing the pressure on the ice and decreasing the likelihood of it breaking further. By spreading your weight out, you can minimize the risk of falling through the ice and potentially getting trapped or injured. Additionally, laying flat can help you to stay calm and conserve energy while waiting for help to arrive. **
